Holligan building services were employed by the clients to add a 4.5 meter by 6.5 metre extension to the rear of their home.
This included:
- Construction of new rear single story extension
- Installation of structural steels
- Electrical and plumbing works
- Plastering of both internal and external surfaces
- Carpentry and joinery works
- Painting and decorating
As part of this project the rear ground floor wall of the house is to be removed, making one large kitchen living space while still retaining the living room to the front of the building.
Work was carried out with minimal disruption to the clients as no work is carried out inside the existing dwelling until the very last opportunity, minimising dust and drafts.
One of the main issues with this project is access/egress as the only access to the rear of the building is a narrow side gate only wide enough for a wheel barrow.
Due to this the concrete for the foundations was required to be pumped in using a concrete pump as can be seen in the photos.
